From 21 to 28 April, we're running our first ever Transfer Bonus Week. Every Mag Miles transfer during this period earns you bonus miles on top of what you'd normally get.
Right now, all our transfer partners work at a 1:1 ratio. 100 Mag Miles gives you 100 miles in any partner program. Simple.
During Transfer Bonus Week, that changes. Every single partner gets a bonus. The minimum is 25% extra, and it goes up to 75% for select partners.
So the same 100 Mag Miles could get you anywhere from 125 to 175 miles in your favourite loyalty program.
Five Partners, All With Bonuses
The bonus applies to all five of our transfer partners:
- SAS EuroBonus (SkyTeam)
- Ethiopian ShebaMiles (Star Alliance)
- Vietnam Airlines Lotusmiles (SkyTeam)
- AirAsia Rewards
- Air India Maharaja Club (Star Alliance)
We'll announce the exact bonus percentage for each partner closer to the date. What we can tell you right now is that no partner gets less than 25%.
What This Means For You
If you've been sitting on a pile of Mag Miles wondering when to transfer, this is it. A 25% to 75% bonus is essentially free miles that you'd otherwise need to earn through spending.
For context, if you transfer 10,000 Mag Miles during this week, you'd get anywhere from 12,500 to 17,500 miles depending on the partner. That difference could mean the gap between economy and business class on certain routes.
How to Prepare
The best thing you can do right now is stack up your Mag Miles before the 21st. Buy gift cards you were already planning to buy. The more Mag Miles you have sitting in your account when Transfer Bonus Week starts, the more you benefit.
